Carla Catalina Vicens- Jéldrez was born in Santiago de Chile. At the age of 18, she was awarded a full tuition scholarship for studying harpsichord with Lionel Party at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, USA, and later with the DAAD Scholarship to study with Robert Hill in Freiburg, Germany. Wanting a deeper insight into Early Music, she went to study harpsichord with Andrea Marcon at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Switzerland, where enchanted by the world of medieval music, she pursued yet another Graduate Studies in late Medieval Keyboards with Corina Marti.

In 2008 she won the 1stPRIZE of the International Historic Keyboards Competition “Fritz Neumayer”, Germany.

At a young age, Carla has already performed in venues like Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires), Kimmel Center (Philadelphia), Teatro Municipal (São Paulo), National Theatre (London), Palace of Arts (Budapest) and has been broadcast in radios in the USA, Chile and Switzerland. She currently performs as a harpsichord soloist and enjoys playing in several ensembles of medieval and baroque music in Europe, South America and the USA.

Apart from recording with medieval ensembles in 2010, she is working on her debut solo recording with original instruments at the historic keyboard collection of the Bad Krozingen Palace in Germany.
